Schlock quickly verified that the cameras were indeed offline. Deciding that Conduit seemed to have the 'negotiation' in hand he explored the room, subconsciously absorbing any stray, small items into his form.
He also kept an eye on what the others were doing. Maybe he could get a better idea of what they could do from how they acted, he was quite curious about the grey-clad, professional woman, she'd said something about a control power right?. He was also curious about Saga's sword, it was obviously powerful, she'd said she was a contriver, could be dangerous, contrivers were often unpredictable. hmm, he'd need to be cautious.

Ash slid into the room, careful not to touch anyone as she moved through the entrance. The slime thing didn't appear too worried about taking a look around. There didn't look like too much was in the room, and negotiations wouldn't have been her strong suit anyways.
The dark shaft, however, was her strong suit. After making sure her scent was well and truly permeating the room, and no one was looking at her. She entered the shaft carefully sticking to the walls. Doing her to see what might wait in the dark, without loosing the light.

"I don't know!" says the woman - though there is a kind of childish quality to her response and she might be a young girl - as a humming sound can be heard from below. "I just came online a few minutes ago - they took me off for maintainance - but I'm locked out of the base surveillance and you're the first to answer my call! Look, I'm sending the lift up to you, take it down, maybe we can work out what happened here - that's your job, right? You were sent to figure out why the base went silent?" She doesn't seem to notice how she's making it easy for people to dupe her.
Ash can, in the distance, see small lights moving towards her, and the humming sound of a state-of-the-art elevator.

"Yes. We were. Me and two others will come down." She looked to Ash and Schlock. "Feel like a trip down to Moria?" She grinned grimly at that. She called into the console. "Just stay calm, everything's going be alright." Conduit normally wasn't the leader type, but no one was complaining yet. If this was their target then this would be easy.... if not well she was sure whoever this person was would have some very.... interesting information.

"Alright, but you're on Balrog watch" Schlock replied as he moved towards the shaft. "I should probably shift to something more humanoid."
He shifts his goo form into a more accurate human shape and extrudes his clothes to cover it. To the casual glance he looks human, particularly if the lighting is poor.

Ash quickly exited the elevator shaft, not that she would learn much from it anyways. Ash wasn't happy about the prospect of going deeper into the facility, but the only other option was staying put, and that didn't seem like a good idea either.
"Did anyone else notice that she doesn't seem to think of herself as human, but something to be maintained? That implies to me a gageteer, contriver, spawner, or general crazy" Ash spoke, drawing attention to herself for the first time.

Pitfall said, half-mocking Ashes words.
So, you three want to go downstairs? Thats fine with me, I'll stand guard here then.
while speaking He points down to his feet, where he set a trap, forming letters out of Sand

Schlock looked around the room, using his power to check for any security systems, if there were any listening devices hidden in the room he'd see them.

There are cameras and microphones around, but they all seem to be turned off.

Schlock looks over at Pitfall and says "It's clean, what's up?"
He found himself liking this guy, Pitfall was obviously a professional, he seemed happy in a leadership role too, Schlock didn't mind that, it meant he didn't have to come up with complicated plans, he could just use his preferred methods.

Telling me its clean, without so much as a second look... if this answer was given by the annoyance, i'd dismiss it, even with this certainty in the voice, but... he DOES seem certain. Maybe part of his power, maybe... well. no way to find out. Best to accept it for now, and if he's wrong, blame him. Jim thought, while looking around in the hut, but not too seriously, because he knew just too well how hard it was to spot something while wearing heavy armor and a helmet to boot. Even if they did not weight much to him, thanks to his power, they did mess with his movements to some degree, and complexe manipulation of items was beyond him, as long as he did wear his armor. He spoke again

Micah had been having an extended struggle with It, trying to override the feelings of distrust and paranoia she was feeling, and now that it was finally under control she felt up to the task of weighing in on the matter.
"We've already established that our employer hand-picked us for a reason. It seems foolish to me to split that hand-picked team up into pieces when we don't know why we're here yet. I'm assuming no one recognized the symbol? The voice? Anything?"
The dark of the room was making her feel much calmer about the situation than she had been under the hot sun. If worse came to worst, she could actually release It without hurting herself. Still, she would be glad when the elevator arrived and they moved deep underground.

The elevator rises up, a single room just barely large enough to hold the entire group, if they squeeze a little. There are no buttons within or other means of controlling it, only a touchscreen panel on one side, showing the D within the circle.
"Get in, get in!" the strange girl says. "Oh, and my name's Dephterie, by the way!"

Saga looks around the little room. hesitantly she steps inside. this appears to be the only way. who ever set this all up wouldnt let us killed at the first hurdle would they? she looks back at the others and signals that nothing has changed with her entering.
