Just to make it clear, you should know the "The Dresden Files Roleplaying Game" ruleset, or at least the basic FATE ruleset, otherwise none of this will make much sense.
Instead of the usual Fate Points, The Dreaming will be using Soul Points, which mostly fulfill the same purpose, but have a different theme and some additional functions.
Soul Points represent the growing "size" of a person's soul as it feeds on the experiences the person makes, the connections they have to other people and just generally what they do in their lives. As far as the game is concerned, Soul Points do everything Fate Points do, as well as:

Soul Points represent the growing "size" of a person's soul as it feeds on the experiences the person makes, the connections they have to other people and just generally what they do in their lives. As far as the game is concerned, Soul Points do everything Fate Points do, as well as:
- They modify negotiations with certain entities - a greater soul is worth more in a deal, even if you're only negotiating for a fragment of it
- They make it harder to hide from certain predators which can track a person by their soul - a great soul is like a bonfire in a dark forest to them
- They determine a character's ability to cast spells, as each spell requires Essence - and in some cases, even Existence - from the Soul to cast. Normally, any spell takes one Soul Point to cast. Points recover at a rate of 1 point per scene. Use your Soul Point total to determine the amount, not your unspent Soul Points - the two are recorded seperately.
Be aware that, for the purpose of spellcasting, it is possible to go beneath 0 - one can keep spending Soul Points until they hit their negative point total, at which point they die instantly, with no chance of resurrection. However, a character with a negative Soul Point total incurs a penalty of -1 to every roll they make for each point beneath zero. And the recovery of points is reduced to one for per every two scenes, until the character is back to 0.
